Our consultants carry out a range of ultrasound-guided procedures, including targeted injections for joints, muscles and tendons, and biopsies and aspirations to help reach a diagnosis.
Every procedure is performed with real-time ultrasound, so the area of concern can be targeted precisely. All procedures include a targeted diagnostic scan of the area.

Who would need an ultrasound-guided procedure?
Procedures address a variety of areas, including joints, muscles and soft tissue concerns such as lumps. Your consultant will advise whether one is appropriate after scanning the area.
How long do they take?
Procedures range from 20 minutes to 1 hour depending on the complexity of your concern.
Can it be done at the same appointment as my scan?
If your consultant identifies a suitable procedure, we aim to carry it out during the same appointment as your scan, whenever possible.
What if I am not sure I need one?
Book a consultation with one of our consultants for £50. If you go on to have imaging or a procedure, the fee is put towards its cost.
